RAE Legs 5 and 6

We were in Fishersville, VA for a couple of trials this weekend. Roxie picked up two more RAE legs, bringing her to a grand total of 6 RAE legs now.

Friday's trial was odd. I'm pretty sure the Excellent course wasn't a valid Excellent course by AKC rules. It didn't have the required number of stationary exercises or Excellent only exercises. The stewards were um, shall we say, very disorganized and didn't really seem to know what they were supposed to be doing. And I caught the judge looking out the door during someone's run! And with temperatures in the upper 90s this weekend, it wasn't pleasant to have to compete in a stale warehouse with no air-conditioning. It was all very strange! But still, Roxie had a couple of nice runs.

Roxie came away with 4th place for Friday's Advanced run. We were tied in score for 4th place on her Excellent run, but beaten out for that placement based on having a slower time. Darn those slow sits! No placements today. Today's Excellent run was actually pretty good, but Roxie's sits totally broke down in her Advanced run. And there were a *lot* of sits in that run, so it was pretty excruciating to have to beg her to sit each and every time we needed a sit.... all nine times in that run. Slow sits plagued us all weekend, as they've sometimes done in the past, but it really went over the top today in that Advanced run. Guess what we'll be working on like crazy before our next trials?!
